Dear Friends of Mountain View,
With the summer fast approaching, we would like to update you on the changing plans for the summer. After much prayer and consultation with each summer camp director, we have made the determination that a reasonable number of regular staff and campers are not ready to share sleeping and other common areas while wearing masks and following other Pennsylvania social distancing recommendations. Having heard these concerns, camp is also aware of the growing need for spiritual, emotional and social encouragement.
Camp has made the decision to modify the entire 2021 summer program and move toward in-person family style camp sessions similar to last summer. With the roll out of the Covid19 vaccine and statements from government officials that things should be back to more normal by the end of the summer, we are currently leaving the fall program intact for now. MVBC is also looking into rescheduling some of the spring sessions into the fall, if possible.
So you can plan your summer, the following is the schedule for the family style sessions:
- June Family Weekends – Begin on Friday 7pm and end on Sunday 1pm:
- Weekend #1 - June 11-13
- Weekend #2 - June 18-20
- July and August Weeks – Begin on Sunday 4pm and end Saturday 10am:
- Week #1 - July 4-10
- Week #2 - July 18-24
- Week #3 - August 8-14
Once the online registration portal is updated, camp will announce that registration is open. Similar to last year, these sessions will be hosted in the pavilion with family style housing allowing for private restrooms.
Please continue to pray for this ministry. We look forward to seeing many of you here on the hill soon!
