Our
Beliefs

The Bible

The Bible is inspired by God in every word, completely without error in the original writings, and is the authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

God

God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Man

Man was created in the image of God, but man sinned, rebelling against his Creator, incurring not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. Being born in this state, all men have a sinful nature and thus deserve eternal judgment from a righteous God. (Romans 5:12-14; Ephesians 2:13)

The Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He paid the full penalty for man's sin when He died on the cross and shed His blood at Calvary as a substitutionary sacrifice. He was buried and raised bodily from the dead, and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father and is our High Priest and Advocate. (Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 1:17-23)

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through a personal faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. Once granted, salvation and eternal life can never be lost. Man's eternal destiny is solely determined by his acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; John 10:28-29; John 3:16-18)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit produces new life and places every believer into the Body of Christ. He permanently indwells the believer, effecting maturity and conformity to the image of Christ and producing a witness to the saving power of Christ to a lost world. The evidence of this indwelling rests not in some spectacular event or spiritual gift but solely in the authority of God's Word. (John 3:1-7; Romans 8:9-10; Ephesians 1:13-14)

Satan

Satan is a real personality and he, with his demons, is in aggressive warfare against God. In His omnipotence, God is permitting him for a season to be "the god of this world" and "the prince of power of the air." The Lord Jesus Christ defeated Satan by His death, resurrection and ascension. In Christ Jesus the believer may claim continuous victory in this warfare! (Luke 4:11-13; Ephesians 2:1-7; 2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

The Blessed Hope

The Blessed Hope of the believer is the imminent, personal return of the Lord and Savior. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-15)

We request that groups, while using our facilities, engage in no teaching contrary to the above doctrinal statement, including any teaching that evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit rests in some special event or spiritual gift rather than solely on the authority of God's Word. Thank you.

Thoughts From The Administrator’s Desk

2025 THEME:
Grateful Thankful Blessed

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. –Psalm 107:1

Dear friends of Mountain View Bible Camp,

Back in 2024, at the September Board meeting, discussions were had about the many needs and projects this aging facility is facing. Though we spent ample time discussing these items, we also spent time in prayer. One of the Board members shared this quote, “God’s work done God’s way, will not lack God’s resources.” We left that meeting with a list of action items and desired to wait on the Lord for His leading.

Later that same Saturday evening, I missed a call from someone interested in the future needs of camp. When I called him back the next day, we spoke about the first item on the action list. After a week or so, I received a call back stating a donation toward the used skid steer machine we were looking to purchase was on the way. Within a few additional weeks, God had led others to also share in that project, the need was satisfied, and the unit purchased. As I pondered how the Lord had provided, I thought of Isaiah 65:24, “Before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”

Additionally, the second item on the action list was the need for a new bus. The 1991 International bus had served the camp since its purchase transporting campers and staff between New Jersey and camp as well as many outings. A bus committee was formed and a new bus was pursued. In October of 2024, a new Blue Bird Bus was ordered and a $30,000 deposit was made. This left a balance due of just over $120,000. As we began facilitating a loan with the bus manufacturer, a donor asked about current and future needs of camp. This need was shared and God chose to meet the need with a single donation of $120,000.

The third action item was the need to replace camp’s maintenance tractor which had both front loader and backhoe attachments. As Mark Fuhr and I began looking into the replacement unit, God was at work in the funding department. As we worked out the purchase price with a local vendor, we shared the final cost with the Board of Trustees. And yes, God had provided the funds in full so the purchase could be made.

A fourth action item was the need to replace the deck boards on the main building upper porch. Materials were calculated and two work weeks were slated for May 2025. As the time drew closer to the work week dates, the materials arrived and willing workers stepped up to make it all happen. And yet again, the final project expenses were covered by generous donations both for the materials and labor. Other action items continue to be added to the list. And as the Lord provides we will follow His lead and move forward.

Sometimes I find it easier to share tangible material blessings that might seem more measurable. However, we know that there have been many non-tangible spiritual blessings taking place all year. We continue to be very thankful for every camper who attends and every staff member who serves in this ministry. Lives have been changed and discipleship has taken place. Every so often, the Lord graciously allows us to see the fruit of spiritual labor: a life changed, spiritual growth happening, and transformations taking place.

Having served at camp for the past 28 years, I am grateful, thankful and blessed. There have been years when finances were lean, camper attendance down, and staff hard to find. Every aspect of camp is dependent on the Lord and His people who give of their time, energy and finances. As we prepare for the 58th year of ministry, we continue to be reminded that “good things happen at camp” because God chooses to work and bless.

Thank you for remembering to pray for this ministry and for those who serve here full time. It remains our desire to be good stewards of all the Lord has entrusted to us, both people and property.
